Pulisic scores in Chelsea win over Krasnodar - PSG smash Basaksehir

Christian Pulisic came off the bench to score for Chelsea on Champions League matchday 2. The Premier League side beat Krasnodar away in Russia 4-0 in front of a limited crowd at the Krasnodar Stadium. 

The result, however, did not necessarily reflect the balance of power in Southern Russia. The Champions League debutants from the Russian Premier Liga made it difficult for the London-based club. Furthermore, Chelsea did not help themselves; in the 14th minute, Jorginho missed from the spot after Kaio brought Timo Werner inside the box. 

Finally, in the 37th minute, Chelsea found a way through. Callum Hudson-Odoi cut in from the left, unleashed a shot that goalkeeper Matvey Safonov led slip through his fingers, giving away a soft goal. 

Even with a goal up, Chelsea continued to struggle to break the Russians down. In fact, it was another penalty that put matters to bed. Aleksandr Martynovich accidentally blocked a Pulisic shot with his arm; the referee pointed to the spot, and Werner scored.

The German was then also involved in Chelsea's third goal. Just three minutes after his penalty, Pulisic sent Werner inside the box, the German squared the ball to Hakim Ziyech, and the former Ajax forward scored from seven yards out. Then in the 90th minute, Pulisic scored Chelsea's fourth. Ultimately, a big win for Chelsea that not necessarily reflected the balance of power that evening. 

PSG make up for matchday 1 defeat Basaksehir defeated

Paris Saint-Germain made up for their matchday 1 defeat against Manchester United. Coached by Thomas Tuchel, the Ligue 1 champions beat Turkish champions Basaksehir 2-0 thanks to two goals by new signing Moise Kean (64' & 79').
