D.C. United transfer Edison Flores to Atlas - Replacement already signed?
Major League Soccer side D.C. United have confirmed that they have transferred Edison Flores to Liga MX side Atlas. Although no fee was disclosed, the understanding is that the MLS side will receive significantly below the $5 million record fee paid for the Peruvian to Monarcas Morelia in January 2020.
“The club would like to thank Edison for the three seasons he spent in Black-and-Red,” D.C. United general manager Lucy Rushton said in a club statement. “We wish him all the best in Mexico at Atlas.”
Flores has struggled in MLS, scoring just three goals and eight assists in 42 games for D.C. United across all competitions. In Martín Rodríguez, the Washington-based club has already signed a replacement. Rodríguez's club Altay confirmed the transfer early on Thursday morning.
